Those giant high-voltage substations? These are controlled electronically. Maintaining and commissioning the low and high voltage electrical installation is your job! Together with a team, you ensure that the Netherlands is supplied with energy.
Wat je doet?As an High Voltage Electrician you are part of a team. Together you are responsible for carrying out maintenance, new construction or renovation of medium and high voltage stations. Depending on your knowledge and experience, we have 'primary' and 'secondary' tasks. Primary activities include separators, switches and overhead and/or underground wiring. Secondary work includes control systems of high-voltage substations and/or associated wiring that must be tested and adjusted.
You work precisely because it is important to follow the drawing carefully. Especially during renovations, where you have to deal with existing installations and cabling. The work takes place outside or in the service building of a station. Your work area will be secured, but parts of the high-voltage substation may be live. Working safely is therefore very important.
