Sustainability and CSRD Expert

Our client is a leading Japanese machine manufacturing company, committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability. As part of their dedication to environmental management and compliance with European Union regulations, they have partnered with Protiviti to ensure adherence to evolving standards, particularly the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

We are seeking a freelance Sustainability and CSRD Expert (m/v/x) to join our team for a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in European Union regulations, sustainability, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and CSRD implementation. The role will involve providing expert guidance, support, and liaison services between our client and Protiviti.

Key Responsibilities of the freelance Sustainability and CSRD Expert in Amersfoort:

  1. Report Preparation: Take the lead in preparing comprehensive reports and documentation related to sustainability initiatives, CSRD compliance, and environmental management efforts. This includes collecting and analyzing data, summarizing key findings, and presenting recommendations in a clear and concise manner.   1. Expertise in European Union Regulations: Become the go-to authority on European Union regulations and directives concerning sustainability and environmental management, with a particular focus on CSRD compliance.
  2. Information Compilation: Support in compiling information materials related to sustainability, environmental management, and CSRD compliance, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  3. CSRD Implementation Management: Provide hands-on support and guidance in the implementation of CSRD requirements within the organization, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.
  4. Promotion of CSRD Implementation: Advocate for necessary changes and efforts required to implement CSRD effectively, working closely with stakeholders to drive awareness and commitment to sustainability goals.
  5. Liaison and Coordination: Act as a liaison between the end client and Protiviti, facilitating communication, coordinating project activities, and ensuring smooth collaboration throughout the CSRD implementation process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Business Administration).
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sustainability, ESG, and corporate responsibility, with a focus on European Union regulations.
  • Expert knowledge of CSRD and other relevant sustainability frameworks and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in additional languages considered a plus.
  • Proven track record of project management and implementation in a corporate or consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable strategies.

Location and Work Arrangement: This is a full-time freelance position based in Amersfoort, offering a hybrid work arrangement with a combination of remote and on-site work as needed.
