JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced Director Roadmap & Activation to play a pivotal role in shaping Liberty Global's future as a leading FMC provider, by orchestrating both the development of an innovative Product Roadmap and leading Commercial programmes that drive customer experience & engagement, revenue growth, and market leadership.

The role is the key responsible for Liberty Global’s Product Roadmap ideation, definition, and prioritization, across Connectivity & Entertainment domains. The Director Roadmap & Activation will also lead key Proposition and Commercial Success tracks that increase engagement with our Connectivity and Entertainment platforms and defend our business against FTTH competition. The role’s expertise and leadership will be instrumental in establishing Liberty Global as a true 'FMC national champion.'

The Director Roadmap & Activation drives the annual Roadmap strategic planning exercise. The role will set an overarching proposition and roadmap north star and translate it into a multi-year set of results. This exercise relies on in-depth customer insights, product trends, market research, and competitive landscape analysis. The Director will lead prioritization of the roadmap in coordination with the OpCos, to reach a common pan-European roadmap across the Group that addresses regional market dynamics. The role also leads the Roadmap scope review and alignment exercise with Infosys, our technology development and delivery partner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Roadmap Leadership:

Craft and articulate an adventurous product vision that galvanizes the organization and aligns with Liberty Global’s corporate and business strategy, as well as OpCos commercial priorities and changes.

An Inspiring leader with change agent capabilities and drive, able to articulate product strategy and roadmap with clarity and impact, effectively engaging senior management and key stakeholders.

Seasoned leader able to translate the product vision into a compelling and actionable roadmap that charts the product's course and prioritizes initiatives with progressive impact.

Conduct in-depth analysis to unveil emerging customer and product opportunities, identifying key trends and comprehensively map the competitive landscape.

Commercial Strategy and Execution:

Successfully lead Commercial Success projects that drive product adoption & scale, accelerate revenue growth, and establish a commanding market presence for Liberty Global’s OpCos.

Establish clear customer value proposition blueprints that guide Liberty Global’s OpCos in bringing to market new products in the Roadmap, amplifying product’s value.

Team Leadership and Management:

Lead and inspire a team of hard-working (senior) managers, guiding them to achieve exceptional results and contribute to the company's success.

Cultivate a dynamic and collaborative work environment where innovation thrives and team members excel.

Promote Diversity and Inclusion in the team, by hiring and developing talent with diverse cultural and skills.

Champion strong relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and aligning efforts towards strategic objectives.

Present and defend product decisions with persuasive confidence, effectively communicating the rationale and potential impact to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining stakeholder trust and fostering a culture of accountability.

Continuous Learning and Improvement:

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in product, marketing, and business practices, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation.

Actively participate in industry conferences and workshops, expanding knowledge and expertise to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

Regularly refine Roadmap processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall product development experience, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Leadership experience in a Technology and/or TMT environment
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing effective commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, based on thorough analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations
  • Demonstrated strong influencing and persuading skills, excellent active listening skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established processes and achieve improvements and standard methodologies

DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Extensive experience of overall commercial and product experience, including leading product roadmap, proposition, base management and innovation plans across different countries in a global/regional context
  • Extensive experience with leading a direct team with a proven track record of people management including communication, negotiation, conflict resolution skills, in a diverse cultural background

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

Education at University degree master’s level in the areas of Business Economics, Marketing, Commerce or related fields. Preferably additional qualifications in the form of MBA/Business or relevant courses/certification.
