Would you like to be part of our specialist services group, who have been providing engineering support to space agencies and prime contractors for more than 40 years?

For our customer, the European Space Agency (ESA), we are seeking an experienced Microsoft SharePoint Developer for a temporary assignment to work at ESA’s ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Your will provide additional support to Terma’s IT team responsible for collaboration applications and be integrated into the customer, focussing on SharePoint application development and providing end-user support to the customer’s technical user community. You will be expected to interface directly with the user community and tackle operational aspects as needed.

Responsibilities

Your specific responsibilities will be:

  • Developing and maintaining solutions, enforcing of governance policies.
  • Gathering business requirements and communicating to stakeholders.
  • Creating and maintaining operations / procedural documentation internal to the proximity services to assure the continued maintenance of the collaborative solutions and supported products.
  • Communicating policy and standards to users and promoting team site best practices.
  • Supporting end users with technical questions and already developed solutions.
  • Preparing training materials and providing trainings to end-users.

This is a full-time position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

The initial duration is 6 months. Extension would be dependent on customer needs.

The requested start of work is May or as soon as possible thereafter.

How to succeed in this position?

The successful candidate shall have:

  • A Masters’ level degree in ICT, or alternatively a Bachelor’s level degree plus relevant IT industry certifications.
  • Some years (>3) relevant professional experience. Exceptionally well qualified junior candidates would be considered.
  • Thorough knowledge and working experience with the multiple major vendor specific Unix/Linux operating systems including:
    Installation, Patching, Migration, Security, Networking, System Internals, Printing, Clustering, Management Tools, Scripting, Performance Tuning.
  • Hands on experience with SysOps tools and practices, e.g. Ansible, Python, Containerization.
  • Experience working in a medium or larger IT environment supporting Physical and Virtual Unix/Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of related products (storage, database, communications etc.).
  • Knowledge of networking technology (ports, protocols, and security).
  • Experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, LDAP
  • Experience with patch and deployment automation and management solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management terms and processes.
  • Practical experience with IT project management would be useful.
  • Ability to collaborate well with customers, vendors, and ESA technical teams.
  • Possess excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ideally have experience of working in a complex multi-site international organisation.
