Technical Services Manager – Control Room and related services


Introduction to the job

Role and Responsibilities

As the Technical Services Manager–CR (Control Room and related services) you are responsible for the appropriate response by the hard service suppliers to high priority failures and business demand. You ensure availability and readiness of the first line response organization as well as on call services. The collaboration between the multiple control rooms (manned by different hard service suppliers) and other emergency response teams (like security, safety/ERT, etc.) is crucial in securing business continuity and safety for all.

You are also responsible for LoToTo services, setting-to-work services and other 24/7 activities performed by the different hard service suppliers in order to facilitate the progress of our large portfolio of constructions projects .

The role of technical service manager-CR requires insight in (overall) asset system relations combined with contract awareness and customer/stakeholder focus. Solutioning creativity is a must as well as stress resilience. Strong communication skills and information availability are key success factors.

Peers in your team are the Technical Facility Managers, Coordinator Permit to Work, Operations Improvement Manager, Facility Shutdown Manager and Maintenance Project Portfolio Manager.

You will report to the Operations/Tactical Asset Management Manager.

Your tasks
  • Demand management related to high priority processes for the correct and efficient response by supplier in order to secure business continuity (FRIC-high priority).

  • Ensure availability and readiness of management on call service for high priority issues.

  • In collaboration with business partner and F&M internal stakeholders, translate service demand into annual plans, including activities forecasts, kpi's, changes, improvements, etc. for PtW, (de)loto and (de)commissioning functions.

  • In collaboration with business partner and F&M internal stakeholders, translate service demand into annual plans, including activities forecasts, kpi's, changes, improvements, etc. for Control Room functions and services.

  • Implement and monitor the correct use of the standard processes for asset safety (like lototo, permit-to-work, etc.).

  • Ensuring cross area (control room) collaboration when needed and alignment with security and safety teams.

  • Securing strong, actual and complete information and communication for high priority issues.

  • Contract & Supplier evaluation regarding control room service delivery.

  • Coordinating escalation and de-escalation process.

Education and experience
  • Completed bachelor or master degree in engineering, asset management or similar.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar complex (industrial) environment.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Solution-oriented & pragmatic.

  • Trouble shooter, Stress-resistant.

  • Excellent decision making skills in fast-changing and complex environments, and capable of dealing with uncertainties.

  • Delegating and giving orders (towards suppliers).

  • Strongly results-orientated with a corresponding sense of responsibility; directs work and ensures accountability.

  • Social skills; emphatic, listening, enthusing & collaborating.

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, dealing with medior management levels, peers, teams, service providers, contractors and consultants.

  • High organizational sensitivity and situational awareness.

  • Balancing stakeholders (conflicting) interests.

  • Networking skills.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Dutch.
