Introduction

Multi-beam electron microscope inspection tools are part of ASML’s holistic lithography portfolio. These machines help our customers ensure quality in their fabs. ASML has an Electron Optical competence center in Delft, with multi-disciplinary teams, where we combine Research with Development & Engineering and deliver modules and system designs for the eScan Multi-Beam Inspection (MBI) products.

The Delft department reports into the ASML HMI D&E organization in San Jose, California.

Job Mission

As a Manager Mechanical Development you and your team are key contributors to the Mechanical development of the ASML’s Multi Beam electron microscopes and its qualification tools. The scope of the electron microscope design is split between teams in San Jose, Beijing and Delft, for the last site your team owns the Mechanical design.

As Manager Mechanical Development you and your people will align technology choices, specification, design and qualification of solutions, within the boundaries imposed by process and planning. You pro-actively drive the development work in your team and participate in reviewing designs. But above all, you will use your leadership and teamwork skills to solve problems and optimize team performance.

You lead a group of 15-20 employees who are T-shaped in nature and are just as happy making their own functional test setups (including electronics & software) as they are in generating quality TPD.

Since the Mechanical Development team in Delft does not report into the central Mechanical Engineering cluster, a focal point of your job is to ensure that the competences of the Delft team remains on par with the Veldhoven teams.

Responsibilities:

• People performance management based on the yearly HR cycle, as well as development of potentials to enable growth of ASML;

• Deliver short and long term staffing plan;

• The engineers in your group work in multi-functional Scrum teams, you have an agile mindset that makes this work;

• Define and implement the competence and resource roadmap for his group;

• End-to-end responsible for the quality and timely delivery of all deliverables in the group, like SEG documentation and TPD;

• Drive improvements on processes and WOW;

• Since we are our own site in Delft we ask Managers to take on additional responsibilities that are needed to run the site. These can be linked to, for example: onboarding, cleanroom maintenance or ESG.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor or Master degree in a Mechanical Engineering.

• 2-5 years working experience in a leadership position for Mechanical Engineers.

• Affinity with managing cross sectoral business processes in fast growing and dynamic business environments.

• Ability to work in an International multicultural setting;

• Provide technical direction for a team of professional designers;

• Highly motivated team player with excellent social, coordination and communication skills;

• Pragmatic attitude, appreciates the T-shaped nature of our department;

• Ability to think and act on a strategic level;

• Good communication skills and good knowledge of English language;

• The ASML Delft Department reports into the HMI D&E cluster which is located in San Jose. 10% travel and evening calls can be necessary;

• You will report to the department manager of ASML Delft.
