Experienced Electro Mechanical Engineer

Experienced Electro Mechanical Engineer

Are you challenged by the engineering of electrical mains and safety infrastructure solutions for high-tech products? Do you want to contribute in finding the best electro-mechanical solutions for our DUV lithography machines? With your talent and experience you can add value to our growing team by implementing the electro-mechanical design solutions to our DUV products.

Can you be the bridge from electrical to mechanical design?

With 24 colleagues we are designing the Safety Handling modules and Mains Distribution cabinets for our DUV lithography machines. Our team creates the requirements based on the input of many other teams. These requirements are used to design electrical modules, their interfaces and cabinets. We count on you to design the enclosures, electrical wiring harness, racks, cabinets and related mechanical parts. You keep existing designs fit for the future, solve quality issues and of course you create new designs. You bring these designs from concept to factory and as such you are also responsible for the documentation and configuration management of these products. To do that, you need to align with many other people to find the best solution.

Activities that you will do on an average working day are:

  • Collaborate to work on design and volume challenges in our racks & cabinets
  • Cabinet design work, including 3D design of racks, cables and related mechanical parts
  • Prepare and execute the change process to get your work into our products
  • Presenting your designs during technical reviews
  • Create Technical Product Documentation (TPD) of your design
  • Communication with suppliers about TPD and design quality
  • Manage outsourcing of electrical modules and act as a technical coach for other designers

For such big and complex machines you can’t do this alone; you are responsible for our cabinet & rack design and work together in an Agile team that takes care of the design from requirements up to and including integration on the machine.

ASML’s DUV Mains and Safety Handling group: your new team?

The DUV MSI group is part of the Electronic Development Cluster within the sector D&E. We are a team that has high values in trust and respect, working together, helping each other and taking responsibility for our work.

Ruben, one of our team members, said: “When I joined ASML my expectation was that I would be designing most of my time. After a few months it came clear to me that as a Design Engineer at ASML there is a lot more variety in your daily activities, investigating issues from the factory or field, reviewing the work of colleagues, joining and discussing ideas in meetings. This variety makes it much more interesting and you really see that you’re having impact. Our group has a very nice diversity of cultures and ideas, everybody is also always ready to help you if you’re in need of it and we can give feedback in all honesty to each other”.

What is expected from you?

Your team player mentality is needed for finding the best solutions together with people in and outside of our team. The quality of your design is important for you, for ASML and our customers. You feel responsible for what you and the team deliver and have the ambition to constantly improve on this.

For doing your work you can rely on:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical (electro-mechanical) engineering or similar
  • 5+ year experience as electro-mechanical designer, including experience with multidisciplinary module design (e.g. wiring harnesses and sheet metal)
  • Experience in 3D and 2D CAD design of complex products, preferably with Siemens NX/Teamcenter
  • Familiar with SAFe - Agile wow is a plus

What do we offer?

Can we count on you? Then you can count on us.

Working in our team can be a challenging task. That is why we want to be extra aware of job satisfaction by making room for development opportunities and to secure a joyful environment. We support that by trainings, growth opportunities and actively managing work life balance. There is some flexibility in working hours. You will work in our Activity Based Working office in Veldhoven and have the possibility to work from home for a limited number of days per week. You are free to plan your holidays to your liking as long as you align with your team members that our work can continue.
