The R&D Director Europe oversees technical development in the Thermoplastic/Masterbatch market in the EMEA region. 

Responsibilities include coordinating company capabilities to ensure project execution, leading technical initiatives, and managing laboratory, formulation, and manufacturing support for polymer applications. 

The position will drive the company's strategic direction, foster innovation, and deliver high-quality solutions to customers.

• Based in The Netherlands
• Commutable distance to office facilities

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership

Guide the EMEA Thermoplastics team in executing product development and technical service tasks

• Strategic Collaboration

Collaborate with Strategic Marketing and Product Managers to develop technology strategies.

• Research and Development

Conduct comprehensive research, attending trade shows and leveraging resources to scout new technologies.

• Customer Engagement

Regularly visit customers to provide technical support and present results.

• Innovation

Lead customer needs and innovation meetings, identifying new opportunities.

• Customization

Collaborate with customers to tailor materials to their specific needs.

• Technical Evaluation

Address technical topics from design to quality initiatives for all thermoplastic applications.

• Global Alignment

Evaluate regional production formulation and capabilities, suggesting improvements for global alignment.

Requirements:

• Education

Minimum bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, preferably a master's degree or higher.

• Experience

Relevant industry experience in customer product development.

Experience in presenting new technologies to stakeholders.

• Leadership Qualities

Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role.

Ability to foster a collaborative approach to problem-solving within the team.

• Project Management Skills

Understanding of managing technical projects in a global market environment.

Experience in overseeing and leading technical projects to successful outcomes.
