RC DIOK was founded in 1971 and has since enjoyed unparalleled success in Dutch Rugby. In the second lustrum year 1981, DIOK won the national championship for the first time. A year later, the association moved to its own accommodation on the Smaragdlaan in Leiden. This allowed the youth to be optimally trained. In the second half of the eighties, a wonderful combination of young talents and experienced players emerged. In the 1988-1989 season, this DIOK selection was so good that the team became undefeated champion of the Netherlands. From 1989, DIOK experienced a special decade in sport. In 1993, no fewer than twelve DIOK players were included in the selection of the Dutch national team. DIOK became Dutch rugby champion for the tenth time in a row (!) in 1999. A record that is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records. In 2001 the ladies of DIOK became national champions. The national title followed again in 2019 as well as in 2021 and 2022 after the competition should have been broken down in the Corona year 2020.

Toelichting: -Demonstrate leadership and promote a culture that strives for high performance from players and support staff in mens squads 1 to 2 - Devising and implementing the game strategy in all areas of coaching and technical support by focusing on continuous improvement of the player(s) and the team - Managing the (coaching)staff of Mens 1 to 2 (competition group) - Be able to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of individual players and the team and develop strategies to address skills and technical deficiencies - Recruit and develop quality players - Develop a gameplan that is clear, concise and refined to optimize tactical skills on matchday - To keep abreast of trends and strategies in rugby union (and other codes) in terms of innovation and tactical acuity - To deploy and manage all resources regarding: Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling to develop an integrated strategy across all men teams - Demonstrate good time management for yourself, the players and the coaches to ensure the team peaks at the right times during the season - Developing and implementing performance goals, providing objective feedback and monitoring progress - Organize the day-to-day operations of the rugby department to utilize available resources and provide the framework for achieving goals and objectives - Be able to communicate clearly and transparently not only with players and support staff, but also with a broad spectrum of people including the board, the Director of Rugby and administrative staff, supporters and the media - Ability to work under pressure and make decisions based on a mix of analysis, experience and judgement - To support the Clubs Community Development Program (GTBM, CJC & Ladies) in partnership with the Director Of Rugby (DOR) & Head of Community, to promote club spirit at all times - Special Skills Development Program for the Club with the DOR - Operate within the agreed budget of the senior rugby department - To Help the Director of Rugby administer player benefits
