Enza Zaden is a leading global seed company specializing in the development and production of high-quality vegetable varieties. We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist - Phytosanitary to oversee the accessibility of commercial products and research materials. This will involve gathering, analysing and disseminating information on relevant legislation and regulations and supporting their implementation across the organisation. You will also proactively identify and resolve trade barriers.

As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist - Phytosanitary, you will be responsible for evaluating regulatory changes, identifying necessary actions and initiating the implementation process. You will contribute to the development of tactical and strategic actions to ensure freedom to operate in the phytosanitary field. You will also be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and summarizing the frequent changes in phytosanitary regulations and collaborating with colleagues to support their implementation.

This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. For example, you will prepare and deliver clear reports and summaries to keep stakeholders informed of key phytosanitary regulatory developments.  You will also prepare reactions to (inter-)national phytosanitary regulations, to be used in lobbying.

Finally, you will initiate and lead improvements to phytosanitary regulatory change and implementation processes, including cross-functional improvements with our Seed Operations and Research & Development departments. You will report directly to the Regulatory Affairs Manager.

Your power

To be successful in this role, you won't mind working under pressure. You know to work independently and think along and involve others in decision making. In short, you are or have:

  • completed a Master's degree, preferably in (Agricultural) Business Administration, Legal Affairs or Food Law & Regulatory Affairs

  • at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of regulatory affairs or dealing with procedures, protocols, laws and regulations, import and export (this is an advantage), or other work experience that fits well with this position;

  • fluent in English; Dutch or other languages in addition are an advantage;

  • good ability to interpret legal and scientific texts;

  • have strong organizational, communication and planning skills;

  • practical experience working with excel/spreadsheets;

  • have an eye for detail and are analytically strong.
