Automation Engineer

Working at Kyocera Senco EMEA Kyocera Europe is the specialist in fasteners and fastening tools for construction professionals and industry. For the EMEA market we are looking for an Automation Engineer who’s responsibility is to help drive innovation and growth in the industry automation segment and to assure a positive customer experience throughout the investigation, installation and after sales process to maximize the Customer Lifetime Value.

This newly created position will build a long term trust relationship and strategic alliance with industrial customers and external partners alike, turning them into brand ambassadors. It is a multidisciplinary role working in close cooperation with our customers and both the local and central commercial teams involved.

Automation Engineer EMEA (32 – 40 hours) Location:

Lelystad, Netherlands (with EMEA-wide responsibilities, work from home flexibility)

The job As an Automation Engineer EMEA you play a crucial role in the development of our European Automation business in the Fastening Industry. Together with our Category Manager Automation you will be responsible for driving innovations and developments based on a strategic or project based planning. His/her/them focus on the designing, developing and detailing of pneumatic and mechatronic systems, stand-alone as well as part of a machine or system.

Key Responsibilities:

In-house innovations/adjustments on a project or strategy/funnel basis

Define functional and technical specifications

Produce technical designs/solutions in a structured manner/process

Involvement and passion (ownership/commitment) in the development of the chosen solution, including full delivery and coordination towards production

Translate new developments into working instructions towards production

In-house production

External production + development

Maintain data/drawings in PDM system

Preparation and maintenance of product documentation such as bills of materials and revision management

Maintain and manage Spare parts

Optimize internal engineering processes

In Co-op with Production, Logistics and Supply chain planning

Contribute to the establishment and implementation of standardization

Contribute to the continuous improvement of R&D by proposing structural improvements.

Ensure European Compliance on all Automation tools Machine directives, CE…

In-house testing

Test in-house innovations/developments

QC on new tools

Provide External & internal training for: ProductionTechnical serviceSalesCustomers

Take lead in installations where necessary

Post launch validation and tracking by timely and sufficient reviews

Provide second help line after service (Local or digital assistance)

Qualifications: A Bachelor degree in engineering preferably mechanical engineering, industrial automation or similar is a minimum.

Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in engineering and product development.

Knowledge of legislation and standards relating to the development of machines, such as the Machine Directive, CE or commitment to acquire this knowledge.

Strong knowledge of control systems and measurement + control technology.

Good knowledge of: Microsoft Office (excel, word, teams etc.), 3D CAD (solid works & Inventor), PDM / PLM.

Good communicative skills in English.

Confident, dynamic with a digital first mindset.

Argumentation is based on data analytics (facts & figures).

Starts with the answer and thinks out of the box.

Takes project ownership and has a pro-active attitude.

Empathic listener to customers and co-workers.

Occasional traveling and customer visits.

Knowing our products and our industry is a big plus.
