Veldhoven,Netherlands Aug 11, 2020 In a nutshell LOCATION: Veldhoven, Netherlands EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years DEGREE: Master JOB CATEGORY: Physics, Optical engineering Introduction Start your career in a dynamic, international environment – one where you will be challenged every day to push the boundaries of technology further than ever before. With our Technical Graduate Program, you get the opportunity to join our Development & Engineering department and bring your best ideas to a global collaboration. We have multiple openings for recent graduates with a background in physics and applied mathematics. Note: For the next selection day, we focus mainly on positions within our Metrology department. For this department, we are looking for master and PhD graduates passionate about modeling. We also look for one Design Engineer Electron Optics with a background in physics for our mechatronics department, located in Delft. Job Mission ASML leads the worldwide development, production and sales of high-end lithography systems for the semiconductor industry. In short, we make the machines that make computer chips, or integrated circuits. We build some of the most amazing, complex machines that you will ever see – and the software to run them – to develop smaller, faster and still more affordable chips. It is because of our machines that the world’s technology has steadily evolved. Physics is at the heart of everything we do at ASML. Metrology orchestrates the behavior of powerful mechatronic modules so that they achieve an extraordinary combination of speed and accuracy when working together. To ensure the ever-shrinking of the computer chips printed by ASML machines, we need people who can help us build next-generation metrology products. We are looking for metrology engineers who are experts in requirements engineering and who enjoy being challenged by translating functional requirements into lean functional designs. These new colleagues must be highly motivated and able to combine strong analytical reasoning, conceptual understanding and excellent communication skills. Job Description We are looking for metrology functional design engineers. As a metrology design engineer, you will perform different tasks: Participate in the definition of system-level specifications of different functions, such as functionality, algorithms, performance and reliability. For example, you may come up with a measurement scheme to capture an effect or develop an algorithm to describe a physical effect or a correction for an unwanted effect.Troubleshoot issues within our factory or at customer sites. Investigate failure modes of the system and figure out the containment that will buy time to find the root cause of a problem.Perform feasibility studies into required improvements, by means of experiments, simulation and analysis of existing (customer) data.Enable new functions by interacting with specialist software designers in the project team. Integrate and test the function against the specification. You will combine your daily activities with intensive onboarding activities. In the first year of your job, you will receive training to develop both your soft skills and technical skills. You may also choose specific individual training related to your personal development in consultation with your manager.
