Junior HR Advisor (o,8-1 fte)

Answering emails from managers to help them out how to prepare for a promotion request “please respond asap”. Getting a coffee and hurry to the meet up with your HR colleagues to share a case of how to effectively deal with the challenge to find staff and think along with a colleague dealing with a difficult possible WIA case. You meet one of your managers and together walk through their team; who is up for promotion? Who needs some extra attention or care? You go back to your workstation and prepare a difficult job offer for a new international hire. Luckily you can call your expert colleagues to think along with you. A teams call pops up from an agitated employee who doesn’t agree at all with the last review given. You listen and help out. And then you see an invite of a HR colleague requesting your participation in a process optimalization project. But before you can answer, you have your meeting with a new manager who you have to inform their enthusiastic idea isn’t legally possible and convince them to explore together what could be possible. Then you are the new colleague we seek. Working as HR advisor means no day is the same. This position is of interest to you If you have recently obtained your HRM diploma or hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a different area but are eager to learn. You are part of a team of 28 HR Advisors and also work closely with the HRM colleagues of HR Services, recruitment, policy, development and other colleagues. As a junior HR advisor, you are seconded to work within a faculty and team-up with the experienced HR advisors within this faculty. These HR advisors give you support, feedback and guidance in your work. Your clusterlead coaches you on your personal goals in your development path as well as in your regular work. Job description In this all-round position, you deal with all aspects of the HR-field and have the opportunity to develop further as an HR advisor. About you: You thrive on finding ways to support managers whose main focus is not on management but on research and education. You can build a relationship with our (academic) managers where you develop from HR advisor to trusted HR partner. You support the manager in keeping an overview, supported by HR data and understanding the business needs. Your unsolicited advice is heard and taken seriously. You really want to know the faculty you work for inside out. This knowledge enables you to advise colleagues of HRM policy or development on trends or recurring issues surpassing an individual faculty. You balance the business approach with a warm understanding of people. Enabling you to coach management and employees in a respectful way, contributing to a smoothly running team or de-escalating complex cases. You understand HR is a balance act between the advisory role and an operational role when you ensure the processes are correctly set up. You acknowledge the importance of performing your administrative tasks correct and on time. TU/e works with AFAS Insite. You can keep your focus, decide what to prioritize and what not, keep an overview of what needs to be done, when and how. And you are a colleague that contributes to the success of our team. As a candidate You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field. You have an excellent oral and written command of the Dutch and English languages. You have a high degree of perseverance and have a firm personality. You are flexible and connect with people. You are result-oriented and make a professional contribution to the development of HRM and the HR advisory role within it. An environment where you are encouraged to develop yourself in the field of HR. Depending on knowledge and experience, the salary will amount to a minimum of € 3.072,- and a maximum of € 4.640,- (salary scale 8 or 9) gross per month under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. We offer a one-year contract, to be filled by mutual agreement with 0.8 fte or 1.0 fte.
