Electrical Controls Technician

The U.S. Embassy in the Netherlands (The Hague) is the diplomatic mission of the United States in the Netherlands.

We provide assistance to U.S. citizens living in the Netherlands on a range of matters working alongside the U.S. Consulate.

Promoting strong bilateral ties between the United States and the Netherlands, we actively work to increase co-operation on counter-terrorism, enhance U.S. economic prosperity, and fight international crime and drugs.

We are currently seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to join us on a full-time basis for an initial one year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.


As an Electrical Controls Technician, you will carry out skilled maintenance and repair work on electrical systems throughout the U.S. Embassy.

Reporting to the Supervisory Building Engineer, you will work on critical and non-critical electrical components within functional and office buildings.

You will also conduct work with on-compound ancillary and residential buildings, above and below ground infrastructure, recreational facilities and other owned and leased properties.


To be considered as an Electrical Controls Technician, you will need:

  • To be experienced and fully qualified/apprentice trained in the installation, repair and maintenance of commercial building electrical systems
  • The ability to repair complex equipment, components and systems
  • Completion of secondary school and/or specialised vocational training program
  • A full, valid driving licence



  • Salary of €47,590 – €61,867 per annum
