Automation System Adminstrator/Engineer Technical Department Company info SABIC is one of the world's largest petrochemical manufacturers, based in

Riyad, Saudi Arabia.

The SABIC Geleen (South Limburg, Netherlands) site is located on Chemelot Business Park, along with 200 other companies and start-ups. Together we have the ambition to be circular by 2050. To this end, some 100 projects are currently underway to achieve this. A large part of these projects are initiated by SABIC. SABIC site Geleen is in transformation. Plants retire and new (parts of) plants are being planned or coming online. Processes have to be de-carbonized by transitioning to green energy sources (energy transformation). Feedstock originating from plastic waste and bio sources will be replacing fossil-based feedstock and turned into high quality polymers (feedstock transformation). SABIC is the largest production company at Chemelot (± 40%) with 7 production units: 7 plants: 1 Naphtha cracker Olefins 4 and 1 DS/CU chemical plant, a Logistics unit for Chemicals & Intermediates, a Polypropylene unit (PPF), 2 Polyethylene units (LDPE & HDPE) and a Logistics unit for Polymers. The Naphtha crackers produce amongst others ethylene and propylene, which are mainly used as feedstock for the successive poly-olefins plants. Our polyethylene product range includes all of the commodity thermoplastic polymers, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE). The polypropylene product range includes block copolymer and specialty automotive grades. The manufacturing site is currently in transition to prepare for the future regarding DE carbonization, CO2 emission reduction, circularity, etc. These 7 operational plants are organized according to the PMT-model (Plant Operations, Maintenance and Technical).
