Practice Group Strategist – Industrial Facilities

Role description: The Practice Area Market Strategist role acts as deputy to the Global Practice Group Director and is responsible for co-developing the global sales and market growth strategy for the Practice Area(s) along with the Global Sales Director and Practice Area leader. You will deliver the practice area strategy at the global level and will work closely with the regional marketing and commercial enablement teams across the A+U division and greater Places GBA to deliver your market’s requirements at the regional and local levels. You will be an integrated sales and marketing professional, conducting market and client research, and developing, and delivering capture plans for top-tier client targets. You will work closely with the division Marketing Campaign Manager commissioning Practice Area targeted campaigns for top-of-funnel sales and demand generation with Practice Area Business Development teams. You will be relied upon by leadership and the global client development and marketing communities to champion your Practice Area and provide insight into your market and customers. You will advise on how the division should shape and market its offering within the larger Arcadis organization to increase our opportunity to win work with like-minded clients in close collaboration with the Practice Area Leaders. You will provide top-line strategy and messaging for Tier 1 Clients/Pursuits and “Must Win” opportunities for your practice area. You will help craft win themes, direct content, and provide guidance as needed. In specialty markets, you may take a more active role in proposal responses to ensure critical expertise is leveraged. Market Strategists will consult with the Regional CE Leads and coordinators in your region, driving best practice, to enable the team to deliver compelling, tailored-to-market, error-free documents, and presentations. As Practice Area Market Strategist, you will lead Tier 1 and Must Win interview prep sessions in line with corporate Sales program standards. In partnership with the Practice Area Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring PA market strategy implementation and effectiveness. You will shape the brief and plan for Practice Area sales and marketing campaigns in collaboration with the AU Marketing Communications Director and relevant team members. You will manage and report on practice area pipeline data, marketing program effectiveness, and associated KPIs, while making recommendations for changes as needed. You will champion practice group knowledge-sharing campaigns across the firm and for centralized data. As a Practice Area strategist in a creative environment, you will actively seek feedback and be comfortable with a fast pace of change. You will be able to both influence strategy and move quickly into operational mode to execute plans while leveraging your problem-solving capability and business acumen to translate big ideas into tangible results. Role accountabilities: Develops and delivers the global sales and market growth strategy for the Practice Area working with regional marketing and CE Leads to deliver on your behalf locally Conducts global Practice Area(s) research including assessing market movements and tracking client/customer preferences - scope: major, multi-market client targets Deploys sales and marketing techniques to deliver on objectives including performing research analysis on markets, conducting competitor analysis, developing capture plans for tier 1 clients, pursuing opportunities Delivers relevant and insightful reports on Practice Area performance Oversight of global Practice Area monthly reports, pipeline forecasting, and regional marketing performance for summary analysis, accuracy, and quality control. Adopts companywide processes for customer databases, relationship management, and customer experience An active participant in the client and opportunity Go/No Go process and prioritization of opportunities for your sector/s region in collaboration with senior colleagues Engages internal network in identifying best solutions and services to bring to key clients in support of the strategy. Attends tier 1 global and national industry events, seeks out speaker opportunities for Practice visibility Understands the partnership model and builds excellent relationships with senior stakeholders, serving as a connector between Practice Areas, Places and other Arcadis GBAs Reports on marketing effectiveness, making recommendations on performance improvement Supports the CE team by ensuring top projects for Practice are captured with appropriate assets. Works closely with the regional marketing and global brand and communications teams to deliver campaigns in line with global and regional Practice Area growth plans and messaging Contributes to the total effectiveness of the global marketing community cultivating cross-organizational alignment and sharing knowledge Market Strategist Scope may vary across functional titles based on industry and firm years’ experience and proven performance The Practice Area Market Strategist is line managed by the Director of Sales and has a dotted line to the respective Practice Area Leader. The role works closely with the AU CE Manager and AU Marketing and Communications Leader and teams. The role will be a crucial member of multiple global communities including market research, strategic planning, marketing, client development, sales, brand, communications, and account leadership. Qualifications & Experience: Demonstrate significant experience and knowledge across your respective practice group area Demonstrating an ability and willingness to take on innovative approaches to supporting sales. Must be able to show experience steering a multi-stakeholder team towards success and adopt an ambitious mindset and drive to support the growth of the business. Experience implementing processes, developing and supporting best practices and continuous improvements with a proven track record of creating alignment across multiple stakeholders, whilst leading and engaging teams behind a cause and motivating them to transition and deliver.
