Oracle DevOps Engineer

As an Oracle DevOps Engineer, your work will at Group IT in the HR/Supporting team (part of European Corporate Systems).  You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the software supports users and their processes rather than the other way around. Your goal is to develop software that makes end-users happy and satisfied. By using your software, manual work is being phased out, and integrations with other systems work smoothly. You will be responsible for creating efficient and effective solutions that improve the overall user experience.

A typical day in this role includes:

  • Discuss with your colleagues a technical issue at the coffee machine
  • Prepare user stories for refinement in the afternoon
  • Develop a new feature for our HR planning system and peer review development from others
  • Have a stand-up via Teams with the other developers of the HR/Supporting team in Surinam
  • Attend a refinement session to estimate new user stories for next sprint
  • Pick up some 2nd line support tickets escalated by the HR Functional Management team

This is you

This role would be a good fit for you if:

  • You have experience in analyzing and designing new business requirements on applications and integrations with HR-systems like Workforce Management, Cornerstone, and AFAS or you are eager to learn everything about it
  • You should be able to develop change requests using tools like Oracle PL/SQL, APEX, Kafka, Redwood RunMyJobs, and others
  • You should also be able to document your solutions in Atlassian Confluence and monitor system stability in collaboration with offshore support teams like our Operations Control Center and software suppliers
  • You like to support your fellow international team members (Surinam) in system architecture, testing, and rolling out new system capabilities,
  • and if you interested to work together with external software vendors on connecting our applications with their systems 

What you'll need:

  • You hold a Bachelor degree in IT or a related field
  • You are familiar with software development in Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle APEX
  • You have experience in scheduling tools
  • You have knowledge in performance tuning
  • Experience with Kafka and/or other integration platforms is a big plus
  • You're fluent in both Dutch and English
