ASML

Senior Physics Specialist - System Performance Overlay

Introduction to the job Are you motivated by demanding projects in a multidisciplinary context? Do you have the capabilities and the drive to provide effective solutions to complex technical problems under challenging time constraints? Are you able to manage the gap between performance (imaging, overlay, focus and productivity) of our scanners and what is needed for our customers? Then the ASML System Performance department is your ideal environment for personal development and professional growth. Working at ASML as an Physics Specialist – System Performance (either imaging, overlay, focus or productivity) is about being part of a dynamic, fast-paced community, facing unprecedented challenges at the forefront of technology together. You will find an open environment, offering possibilities to take charge of your career, to be inspired, to have fun. The System Performance department is part of the Performance & Integration department (part of D&E) within ASML. We predict and optimize how our scanners will perform in their natural habitat: our customer’s wafer fab. We perform this task for EUV and as well as Immersion scanners. Role and responsibilities As a Physics Specialist – System Performance you will be a key player in making the performance of our scanners meet our customer’s demands. Your main responsibilities will be: Responsible for predicting imaging, overlay, focus or productivity performance of our future systems and assess, trouble-shoot and optimize performance of real scanners who have just come into existence. Contribute to the development of ASML products by testing, analyzing, qualifying and reporting performance and inventing and specifying improvements within the boundary of the system specifications, costs and planning considerations. Develop expertise in how design choices in scanner Hardware and Software and choices in the application (such as scanner settings and resist processes), influence system performance. You will need to understand why and how performance of a system is important to our customers. Use this knowledge to predict performance in future scanner designs by means of sophisticated simulation tools or you will create tests and analysis tools to assess the performance of scanners and facilitate an effective trouble-shooting process. Are our latest products capable of what we predicted they would be capable of? If not, how come and how do we fix it as fast and as effective as possible? We will turn to you to answer these questions. Invent and design new calibration and qualification methods to improve performance by applying innovative data analysis methods and using statistical methods to show improvements or issues.
