Group Lead Platform Infrastructure

Role and responsibilities In this role you will lead the team of platform infrastructure developers and architects building the foundation layers of a SAAS (Software As A Service) solution to be shipped to ASML’s customers worldwide. Together you develop and deliver integrated platform components for our software control product portfolio that will meet the customers' high availability requirements. The solutions will be deployed in a challenging air-gapped environment for which your team acts as 4th line support. The group size is typically 25+ people; hiring, onboarding, and coaching of team members is the first key element (People). Target assignment, priority evaluation and adjustment, organizing a strong customer focus in the group to achieve the responsiveness and reliability we need to secure expansion of the business is the most prominent part of the role. Overall, you stimulate and facilitate the personal development of your group members. Alignment with senior stakeholders like program management is a vital part of the role. Content expertise (SAAS, Kubernetes, DevOps, Software Packaging, Installation) is the second (Product) key element to be a successful leader in this industry. Be a solution provider by driving development of new features and functions considering quality and timely delivery of the deliverables. Participate in the definition and realization of the function roadmap. Pave the way for our future products. Improve the quality and structure of our software to lower the cost of change. Identify and realize time to market reduction opportunities. With your team, you take care that the group has a balanced focus on providing long- and short-term solutions. The final key element is Process. Contribute to the definition and implementation of departmental policy and departmental planning. This will include personnel, budgets, investments, resources, methods etc. The department works in a SAFE-like environment tailored to the ASML product development needs. We call this ADM (ASML Development Model). In this model your team participates in an Agile Release Train. The train is managed by the Chief Product Owner (CPO) and Release Train Engineer (RTE). The teams you manage are part of the train and include roles like Engineer, Team Architect, Product Owners, Quality Assurance Engineers, DevOps specialist etc. You will need to collaborate intensively with RTE and CPO to ensure successful delivery of the platform solutions build in this train. Education and experience Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics or Engineering and a background in software infrastructure development in a technical environment At least 5 years of relevant leadership experience in a technical software development environment or related working environment, preferably as Group Lead. Knowledge of software development is a must - focus on Agile methodologies, preferably SAFe. Knowledge of (cloud) infrastructure development and technologies including DevOPS, Infrastructure as Code, Container orchestration, operating systems & Databases. Technical background of semiconductor industry processes, process integration, process control, semiconductor devices and manufacturing is preferable; At least 8 years of experience in developing, integrating and testing complex multi-disciplinary software products.
