For Foseco in Enschede, we are looking for a: You will bring a new dimension to the simulation and modelling team, in terms of water model and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of the casting processes and bring a new set of skills to the Foundry Technologies R&D team to deliver high quality simulation and modelling results. In addition, you will be capable of developing and optimizing material parameters of new products to deliver reliable simulation results. The ability to think freely and work independently are key to this role. Simulation and optimization of powder flow process for internal and external customer is a big part of the job and develop optimized dataset of products and materials. You also will evaluate simulation results in comparison with experimental results. Optimization of process parameters and ensure the simulation methods are efficient and appropriate to the required result. Also, you will extend the technical understanding of CFD simulation. Key accountabilities/ responsibilities You will build the CFD capabilities in the R&D team supporting scientists and engineers in various projects. Development and optimization of material parameters of new products to deliver reliable simulation results will be part of the job. Therefore, data acquired in the R&D lab and test foundry will be used as reference. In addition, you will be the interface to the VESUVIUS simulation teams that are focused on customer support. Experience and Qualifications You have a Master’s or Ph.D Degree in Mechanical Science & Engineering. Direct experience with CFD applied preferably within metal industry is not mandatory but preferred. Significant knowledge of simulation & modelling tools is required. You need to be self-reliant.
