You will make a difference as Thermodynamics Engineer. Here’s how As Thermodynamics Engineer you will join a hardworking and driven team and responsible for the thermodynamics aspects of high-tech electron-microscope modules or sub-systems. You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, software, mechatronics, dynamics, thermodynamics engineers, architects, project managers, and multidisciplinary colleagues outside Research and Development like sourcing, operations, and service. You will typically be involved in 1 to 3 projects or activities in parallel. In these projects you can see your designs grow from a conceptual idea to a finished product for our customers. As linking pin within the development team, you will frequently be in contact with parties outside the project throughout the organization. The decisions made by you and your team will have direct business impact. Your challenge will be to find solutions for technological exciting problems, meeting the needs of all relevant parties, combining short term goals with long term needs. The position will allow you to grow both in technical as in business skills! We will challenge you to get the best out of yourself. You will report directly to the group manager of the Mechatronics team within the TEM Solution R&D organization. Key Responsibilities In this role you will have the following key responsibilities: • Perform thermal simulations and analysis on mechanical systems and subsystems • Design, analyze and test mechanical systems, subsystems on thermodynamic performance • Collaborate with a team of engineers covering multiple competences (mechanical, electrical, software, dynamics) • Engage with system architects, engineers and project managers on thermodynamics aspects • Review system, module and component design on thermodynamic aspects Are you someone with… University Master or PhD in mechanical engineering with specialization in thermodynamics, or equivalent Additional work experience in this fiel is a plus Experience in mechanical simulations using finite element methods, testing and validation of mechanical numerical solutions and mechanical characterization of materials Experience in applied mechanics, FEM and material constitutive behavior Experience witrh cryogenic material and system properties is preferred Experience with softwarew tools such as Matlab, UX and ANSYS Who are we?
