The role

As the IT Manager within Damen Naval its IT staff department, you are the line manager of the Business Systems department. This department is responsible for managing and optimizing our IT business systems. You align technology solutions with the strategic goals of Damen Naval. You also optimize business processes to ensure IT resources and applications are optimally leveraged. You also manage the teams of Engineering Applications and Non-Engineering Applications. Your official job title is Manager Business Systems.

Key accountabilities

As the IT Manager, your job entails:

• Conducting feasibility studies and assessments to determine the viability of implementing new business systems or enhancing existing ones.
• Designing, developing, and implementing (non-) engineering business application solutions through collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
• Managing the integration of different business systems to enhance efficiency and to streamline business processes and data flow across Damen Naval.
• Ensuring that Damen Naval its business systems comply with security standards and regulations.
• Implementing and enforcing security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and information.
• Developing and managing the IT budget for business systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
• Ensuring that Damen Naval its business systems comply with security standards and regulations.

Skills & experience

As the IT Manager, you need to have:

• 7+ years of experience in IT business system management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an IT or similar technical study.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, services, and regulations.
• Good command of the English, and preferably also Dutch language (written & verbal).
• Excellent antecedents as a pre-employment security screening and investigation are a part of the recruitment procedure (given the military nature of our projects).
• EU citizenship or valid EU work visa is required to be considered as a viable candidate.
