The role

As the Verification & Validation Lead at Damen Naval, you will play a crucial role in ensuring state-of-the-art naval vessels comply with the strict requirements set by customer and regulatory bodies. Leveraging your broad experience in complex shipbuilding or maritime projects, you design and manage the requirements model, using the customer requirements as your reference. You also lead and coach a specialized verification and validation team involved in complex naval shipbuilding projects.F

Key accountabilities

As the Verification & Validation Lead, your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the Verification, Validation and Acceptance (VV&A) process within shipbuilding projects.
• Managing the requirements model (Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)) of each ship building project.
• Implementing improvements in the requirements engineering process and ensuring a complete set of verified system requirements.
• Leading, coaching and appraising the verification and validation team involved in complex shipbuilding projects.
• Supervising the team collaboration with test and integration engineers for validation activities and oversee the agreement process with the customer on system specifications.

Skills & experience

As a Verification & Validation Lead, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• 5+ years of experience designing and executing verification, validation, and acceptance (VV&A) activities related to shipbuilding, offshore equipment, or industrial installations.
• Strong command of the German and English languages both written and verbal.
• Solid experience working with Configuration Management, Requirements Management, and Systems Engineering principles.
• Expertise in the Verification, Validation, and Acceptance (VV&A) process and working on Class-regulated products.
• Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management or another relevant technical study.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
