The role
Damen Naval is seeking a highly skilled Integration Engineer HVAC-R Systems for an interim position at our headquarters in Vlissingen, Netherlands. This interim role is crucial for managing and integrating heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) systems on board our ships. From initial proposals to final delivery, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of engineers to ensure top-tier engineering output.

Key accountabilities
As Integration Engineer HVAC-R Systems your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure full compliance with all customer and statutory body requirements.
• Integrate delivered components and systems into ship designs in collaboration with internal departments, subcontractors, statutory bodies, and owners.
• Acquire and review supplier engineering information and documentation, including mechanical drawings, schematics, calculations, and electrical diagrams.
• Update the engineering database with purchase orders, parts, meta-data, and documentation.
• Perform technical calculations for design validation and to assess subcontractors' designs.
• Create technical and functional specification documents.
• Supervise subcontractors to ensure all contractual obligations are met and track any deviations from contracts.
• Outsource detailed engineering work in a 3D environment and verify the output.
• Verify technical performance of products and systems, inspect equipment at supplier premises, and conduct FATs.
• Provide technical support for commissioning activities and maintain strong relationships with technical representatives of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Organize design checks, reviews, and risk analyses to ensure the required quality.
   

Skills & experience
To excel as Integration Engineer HVAC-R Systems you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Bachelor or Master degree in HVAC engineering or equivalent proven work experience.
• At least two years of experience with HVAC-R systems and electrical/automation matters related to HVAC-R equipment in ships, offshore, or industrial installations.
• Experience working with statutory bodies and managing third-party vendors and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English, written and verbal.
• Key competencies: customer orientation, budget management, planning and quality awareness, teamwork, results orientation, flexibility, persuasiveness, initiative, and effective listening.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
